Eleven Characteristics Every Leader Shares

1.A leader is focused on his dreams. A leader focuses in the future constantly, working on a vision for a better future. Always contented, but never willing to settle for less than what they wish for without a competition.

2.A leader heads forth before accomplishment is assured. If others are not nervous, apprehensive, disbelieving, pessimistic, or negative about where you are going, then it's almost certainly been done before and is not a very important deal. Leaders embark on journeys that have not been tried.

3.A leader talks about his own shortcomings before talking about anyone else's. Leaders are not perfect, and are willing to acknowledge what they need to work on. They are their own worst enemy, and know that the log in their own eye is often larger than the splinter in anyone elses.

4.A leader makes others better. Positivity, motivation, inspiring, support, help & guidance, answerability, example. We all require these items.

5.A leader is swift to upliftand encourage the least amount of improvement. Every leader knows that they got to their place by little, single steps in that direction, not giant advances forward. Leaders celebrate small achievements, lifting up their followers.

6.A leader is genuinely interested in his/her fellow man. People are selfish at their core, and leaders know that others want and need to be listened to and focused on.

7.A leader takes others ahead with him/her. A smart leader surrounds themselves with others that are smarter and more talented than they are.

8.A leader never allows murmuring—from himself or others. Leaders never allow gossip or negative talk to get into their company.

9.A leader does what is just rather than what is common. The masses are usually looking for what is in style, that is why they seldom become magnificent. My favorite quote is - “Two roads diverged into the wood, and I, I took the one less traveled by and that has made all the difference.” (Frost) Doing what is right will ensure that integrity and honesty is the base of a leaders value system.

10. A leader is a giver. A leader is the initial one to do what no one else wants to. You don't need to look any further than when the Son of God washed his disciples feet.

11. A leader goes the extra mile. A leader does more than what is expected of them. Up early, up late, drive anywhere, fly anywhere, not only willing to do the effort necessary to see success, but willing to work harder than anyone else to get there.
